Jart Hudson Farms is seeking a skilled Farm Equipment Operator to join our team in Turkey, NC. We are a family-oriented, well-respected row-crop farming operation in the heart of eastern North Carolina. Our farm produces high-quality peanuts, tobacco, sweet potatoes, watermelon, corn, and wheat, and we are committed to maximizing crop yields through safe, efficient, and modern production practices. This role is ideal for a dependable agricultural equipment operator who understands field efficiency, preventative maintenance, and agronomic timing. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment performance and supporting high-yield crop production across seasonal workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate modern agricultural equipment safely and efficiently:
- Combines / harvesters
- Row crop tractors
- Planters & cultivators
- Sprayers & application equipment
- Grain carts and support machinery
- Perform precision planting, spraying, cultivation, and harvesting
- Conduct preventative maintenance and basic mechanical diagnostics
- Assist with equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Calibrate equipment for accurate application rates and field performance
- Maintain field operation records and equipment logs
- Follow farm safety protocols and compliance standards
- Support peak seasonal workloads (planting & harvest)
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating farm machinery or heavy agricultural equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude (hydraulics, basic diesel repair, troubleshooting)
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL Class A preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Experience with equipment calibration & maintenance
- Basic computer/monitor systems familiarity (precision ag displays a plus)
- Welding or fabrication skills a plus
- Ability to work extended seasonal hours
- Strong reliability and work ethic

Schedule
Work hours vary seasonally. During planting and harvest, employees can expect long days, often 8–12+ hours. In the off-season, hours may be reduced, sometimes below 40 per week.
