Bolivar Farmers Exchange is hiring a General Manager to join our team in Bolivar, MO (about 30 miles north of Springfield). In this role you will oversee day-to-day operations, vendor partnerships, and services for member owners. This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and plays a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of our farm and agriculture focused business.
We are a trusted provider of agricultural fertilizers, livestock feed, and farm supplies. Serving both farmers and local residents, we take pride in delivering high quality products, personalized fertilizer solutions, and dependable service. Our team supports the agriculture community with feed, tools, corral equipment, and expert guidance tailored to local farming needs.
We offer competitive compensation $75,000 - $95,000 based on experience, health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation, company vehicle, and 401(k) retirement plan.
What you will be doing:
- Provide overall operational leadership for retail, feed, and fertilizer operations
- Oversee financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Maintain strong relationships with member owners, customers, and Board of Directors
- Manage supply chain operations including purchasing, inventory control, and vendor relations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and agriculture industry standards
- Supervise, train, and develop staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Represent the organization within the local agriculture and farm community
This job is for you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, agronomy, or related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in agribusiness, farm operations, or management
- Strong knowledge of local farm practices, crops, soils, and market conditions
- Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and resolve conflict
- Experience with farm management software, financial tools, and agricultural equipment is a plus
