We are hiring a
Remote Key Account Manager to develop and expand on relationships with large, multi-location agricultural retailers, cooperatives, and commercial operations west of the Mississippi River. Your focus will be on fertilizer parts and equipment, bulk storage tanks, and automation systems. Drive awareness for Fairbank’s full product line and geographic distribution footprint while building strong connections with executive leadership, purchasing teams, and operational decision-makers within key accounts.

What you will do...
Strategic Account Growth
- Identify, develop, and manage large regional and key agricultural accounts.
- Create and execute strategic account plans focused on fertilizer parts & equipment, tank systems, and automation solutions.
- Increase customer awareness of our full distribution footprint and product capabilities.
- Position the company as a long-term supply and solutions partner.
Fertilizer Parts & Equipment
- Promote fertilizer handling components including pumps, meters, valves, fittings, plumbing systems, and application equipment.
- Identify opportunities for standardization of parts and supply programs across multi-location accounts.
- Support facility upgrades, seasonal demand planning, and capital equipment initiatives.
- Drive increased product penetration within existing accounts.
Tank Systems
- Develop opportunities for bulk storage tanks, nurse trailers, containment systems, and related infrastructure.
- Assist customers with new facility builds, expansions, and system upgrades.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support specification, quoting, and project execution.
Automation & Monitoring
- Promote automation systems, monitoring solutions, and facility control systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, inventory tracking, and compliance.
- Work with technical teams to provide solutions-based selling and project support.
Relationship Development
- Build relationships with executive leadership, purchasing managers, operations directors, and branch/facility managers.
- Conduct regular in-person visits, business reviews, and strategic planning meetings.
- Establish multi-level relationships to ensure long-term account stability.
Internal Collaboration
- Align with territory sales representatives to coordinate key account strategy.
- Communicate large project activity and demand forecasts to purchasing and supply chain.
- Provide competitive insights and market intelligence to leadership.
Performance & Reporting
- Maintain CRM documentation and account activity tracking.
- Forecast revenue and margin growth within assigned accounts.
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and profitability targets.
What you will bring...
- Experience managing large or multi-location ag retail, distributor, and input manufacturer accounts preferred.
- Knowledge of automation or monitoring systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel a minimum of 50%.
