Job Description:

To support this mission, Syngenta's Operations & Trialing Team is seeking a Pipeline Analyst in Slater, IA or Malta, IL. This role will serve as a strategic analytical partner to Hub and Trait teams, providing independent insights across R&D that help build a pipeline narrative that can be leveraged across internal stakeholders.
The Pipeline Analyst is a global analytical role responsible for comprehensive pipeline performance analysis across all Syngenta Seeds R&D. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical and agronomy skills with the ability to distill complex data into clear executive summaries and compelling pipeline narratives, supporting breeding program success and driving data-informed action at senior levels while maintaining alignment with industry standards and competitive benchmarks.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive analytical frameworks to assess germplasm and trait pipeline performance, such as KPIs, metrics, and predictive models.
- Monitor pipeline velocity, bottlenecks, and conversion rates across programs, conducting variance analysis between intended vs. actual outcomes.
- Partner with Digital and breeding program leaders to ensure data integrity, analytical relevance, and integration of industry benchmarks.
- Serve as an independent checkpoint for pipeline performance, leading root cause analysis of underperformance and unexpected outcomes.
- Create executive-level reports and presentations synthesizing complex pipeline data into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Analyze resource utilization efficiency across breeding programs and geographies to optimize allocation.
- Support scenario planning and strategic decision-making through data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with IT and data science teams to develop and enhance advanced analytical tools and platforms.
Qualifications:
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring current or future sponsorship (which also includes OPT/CPT).
Required:
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Agronomy, Data Science, Agricultural Sciences, or related fields.
- 5+ years experience in agricultural analytics and/or agronomy.
- Strong understanding of plant breeding principles, germplasm development, and trait integration.
- Expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization tools (R, Python, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with executive reporting and translating complex data into strategic insights.
- Experience working in a global, matrix organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to influence decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired:
- Experience with agricultural pipeline management systems and databases.
- Background in agricultural economics or commercial analytics.
- Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms and automation tools.
- Understanding of competitive intelligence and market analysis in agriculture.
Additional Information:
Salary for the role is $114,100 - $163,000 per year.
