OBJECTIVE
The Farmbox Attendant operates and maintains a year-round controlled-climate, hydroponic container farm that grows leafy green, culinary herbs, and mico greens for our guests. This team member also assists with grounds work and Ranch maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Farm Box Attendant (75% of time)
- Operate the Farm Box according to provided guidelines
- Choose the plants to grow in the FarmBox
- Grow and harvest produce for the ranch kitchen
- Provide guidance to other team members who will assist with shift coverage during time off
- Communicate with Farm Box company technicians for troubleshooting etc.
Maintenance/Grounds (25% of time)
- During the spring and summer, the Farmbox Attendant will support grounds operations:
- Daily watering and deadheading of flower baskets, boxes, and beds
- Daily irrigation of lawns
- Mowing and weed eating, weed spraying, fertilizing of lawns
- Trimming shrubs, bushes, and trees
- Weeding, planting flowers, raking, digging, sweeping, painting or staining
- Assisting with minor repairs and grounds related projects
- Year-round, the Farmbox Attendant will support the Maintenance department:
- Respond to daily maintenance needs identified by manager, departments, and guests which could include responding to plumbing, electrical, heating, and service requests
- Removal of snow whether that be shoveling, using snow blower, plow truck, skid steer, or other means of snow removal
- Check and maintain the pool and hot tub water level, temperature, and chemical balance
- Maintain pool and hot tub cleanliness
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Resourcefulness: team members in the maintenance and grounds department will encounter new situations with equipment or tools that they may/may not be familiar with. One must be able to find an answer using all the resources available to them.
- Problem solving capabilities: team members in the maintenance and grounds department will need to evaluate and resolve issues effectively and be comfortable and willing to discuss possible solutions with team members and managers.
- Collaboration: the maintenance department is a collaborative team. There is an expectation that one will collaborate with every member of the team at one point or another. One must be willing and able to share their ideas, hear other's ideas, and work with the team to find the most appropriate solution to Ranch needs.
- Learning and growth mentality: team members in the maintenance and grounds department will be asked to learn new skills, work with tools they may not have prior experience using and utilize technology they may not have used before. There is an expectation that these opportunities will be approached in a positive manner and willingness to learn.
- Independence: the Farmbox Attendant primarily works alone. One will be expected to manage their time effectively to achieve goals.
- Responsibility: each member of the maintenance department is depended upon to meet the needs of such a large Ranch. One must be reliable, dependable, follow through, and complete the tasks assigned.
EVALUATION:
The Farmbox Attendant will be given feedback immediately as to how well tasks or responsibilities have been performed. However, there is also an annual evaluation that will provide an opportunity for evaluation on the essential attributes of the job.
The essential attributes are the key to the level of accomplishment achieved on an annual basis in this role.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a noisy environment
- This role requires both indoor and outdoor work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
- One will need to be able to kneel, crouch, crawl, lean on elbows, walk, reach with hands, climb balance, stoop, and perform work in tight spaces
- Frequent lifting and moving between 25 - 50 pounds
- Mobility and dexterity are required, including twisting, lifting, pushing, hauling, carrying, shoveling, and tool manipulation
