Position Overview
Prins USA is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Sales Manager focused on New Business Development within the horticulture industry. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across North America for both single-scope and multi-scope greenhouse projects.
The Sales Manager will represent Prins USA while also operating in support of Green V USA, helping position the organization as a leading systems integrator for horticultural infrastructure and technology.
This individual will work closely with our Dutch sister companies including Jan Voshol, Stolze, HT Verboom, and the broader Prins Group, bringing Dutch greenhouse engineering expertise together with practical American solutions for growers.
The ideal candidate is a hunter, energized by building relationships, opening doors to new opportunities, and guiding clients through complex purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
• Identify and pursue new opportunities within the commercial horticulture and controlled environment agriculture sectors.
• Develop relationships with greenhouse growers, investors, developers, and industry partners.
• Actively generate leads and expand the company’s market presence across North America.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Sales Leadership
• Lead the sales process from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and contract award.
• Identify opportunities for single-scope and multi-scope projects involving irrigation, climate systems, electrical, automation, and other greenhouse infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and partner companies to develop integrated solutions.
Client Advisory & Solution Development
• Understand client needs, operational challenges, and financial drivers.
• Build clear business cases for proposed solutions and system designs.
• Help clients evaluate different technologies and investment strategies.
• Guide customers toward solutions that maximize productivity, efficiency, and return on investment.
Systems Integration Strategy
• Support the strategic vision of Prins USA and Green V USA as a full systems integrator.
• Identify opportunities to combine capabilities from multiple partner companies into unified project solutions.
• Coordinate with international partners to bring proven Dutch greenhouse design methodologies to North American projects.
Relationship Management
• Build long-term trusted relationships with clients.
• Maintain ongoing contact with growers and industry partners.
• Ensure smooth communication between clients and internal project teams.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, engineering, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Demonstrated experience in sales or business development, preferably within horticulture, agriculture, greenhouse systems, or technical project sales.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Ability to understand complex projects and translate technical solutions into business value.
• Proven ability to manage and advance a sales pipeline.
Preferred
• Experience with greenhouse construction or horticultural infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of systems such as irrigation, climate control, automation, or greenhouse electrical systems.
• Experience selling multi-scope or integrated technical projects.
• Familiarity with controlled environment agriculture.

Travel

Training & Development
The Sales Manager will receive training and support from Prins USA and our Dutch sister companies, gaining exposure to advanced greenhouse technologies, design methodologies, and integrated horticultural systems.
