Okray Family Farms is hiring an Irrigation Technician to join our team in Plover, Wisconsin (about 90 miles west of Green Bay). In this role, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems and electrical components that support large scale farm and agriculture operations.
Okray Family Farms is a multi-generational, family-owned agriculture company founded in 1905. Today, the farm produces potatoes, sweet corn, green beans, peas, soybeans, and maize across thousands of acres in central Wisconsin. What you will be doing:
- Install, troubleshoot, and service center pivot irrigation electrical systems
- Maintain and repair farm irrigation equipment to ensure proper operation
- Install, troubleshoot, and service 480-volt equipment with 110-volt controls
- Diagnose and repair electrical motors and irrigation components
- Install and service low voltage DC controls and telemetry equipment
- Install and repair underground wiring used in irrigation systems
- Assist with maintaining irrigation systems across the farm’s agriculture operations
This job is for you if you have:
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Technical or trade school training or experience with irrigation or agriculture equipment strong troubleshooting and electrical repair skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to operate equipment such as a forklift, trencher, skid steer, or excavator
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, dust, wind, and rain
- Ability to work extended hours during peak farm and irrigation seasons (spring through fall, typically 6am to 5pm)
Preferred:
- Prior electrical troubleshooting or irrigation system experience in agriculture or farm environments
