Job Summary
The Insulator applies insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings.
Essential Functions
- Read blueprints and select required insulation material
- Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive backed pins to surfaces as necessary to facilitate application of insulation material
- Measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using tape measure, knife, or scissors
- Fit, wrap, or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications
- Cover or seal insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to the structure according to type of insulation used and structure covered
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Education And Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required

- Ability and willingness to travel as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Ability to operate job related tools
- Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help
