Sales Engineer - Irrigation Systems (Horticulture Industry)
Position Overview
Prins USA is seeking a motivated
Sales Engineer - Irrigation Systems to support and grow irrigation and integrated system projects within the horticulture industry. This role will focus on designing, selling, and supporting irrigation and related technical systems for greenhouse and controlled-environment agriculture projects.
The Sales Engineer will operate under
Prins USA and will also conduct work under
Green V USA, helping both companies deliver integrated horticultural solutions. The position will be based out of our
Stevensburg, Virginia office and will report directly to the local manager.
This role combines
technical design, customer relationships, and project coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with growers, greenhouse developers, and industry partners to provide tailored irrigation and system solutions.
The candidate will receive
technical training and design exposure from our Dutch sister company Stolze, bringing Dutch horticultural system expertise together with practical American implementation and client-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with greenhouse growers, developers, and horticulture industry partners.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for irrigation and integrated system projects.
- Represent Prins USA and Green V USA in meetings, site visits, industry events, and trade shows.
- Provide consultative sales support to clients, helping them select the best irrigation and horticultural systems for their needs.
System Design & Technical Support
- Assist in designing irrigation and related horticulture systems for greenhouse projects.
- Work with internal engineering teams and Stolze design resources to develop project proposals.
- Provide technical guidance to clients regarding system performance, layout, and best practices.
- Support both single-scope irrigation projects and multi-scope greenhouse system projects.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Assist with project planning, system specifications, and client communication during project development.
- Support installation and commissioning processes when necessary.
Systems Integration
- Support the company’s strategic goal of becoming a leading systems integrator in the horticulture industry.
- Coordinate irrigation systems with other greenhouse infrastructure including climate control, electrical systems, and automation.
- Help align irrigation solutions with the broader project scope provided by Prins USA and Green V USA.
Training & Industry Development
- Participate in technical training provided by Stolze in Dutch greenhouse system design practices.
- Translate Dutch horticulture technology and best practices into practical solutions for the U.S. market.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and trends within controlled environment agriculture.
Qualifications
Required
- Working knowledge of horticulture, greenhouse operations, or controlled environment agriculture
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to growers and project stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel as required for client meetings and project support
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Preferred
- Experience with irrigation systems, greenhouse infrastructure, or horticulture equipment
- Technical sales or sales engineering experience
- Experience with system design, CAD, or technical proposal development
- Familiarity with greenhouse technologies such as climate control, fertigation, or automation systems

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on experience
