Sojourners' Ranch & Community is seeking a compassionate and talented Chef/Cook to prepare daily meals for our small, family-style residential care home located on a peaceful 90-acre ranch outside Charleston, South Carolina.
Our chef prepares
lunch and dinner for up to 10 residents and a small ranch team, focusing on nutritious, comforting, home-style meals made with fresh ingredients whenever possible. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking in a relationship-centered environment where meals are an important part of daily life.
Our kitchen is small, personal, and welcoming - perfect for a chef who values quality ingredients, creativity, and connection with the people they cook for.
Responsibilities:
Prepare daily lunch and dinner
Assist with light breakfast preparation or planning as needed
Create simple rotating menus and incorporate resident favorites
Order groceries and manage kitchen inventory
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen
Accommodate basic dietary needs or restrictions
Assist with occasional special meals or small events
Participate in monthly check-in meetings with leadership

Passion about nutritious, home-style cooking

Friendly and comfortable interacting with seniors and families
Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
Works well collaboratively with a small team
Appreciates fresh and farm-inspired ingredients
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a cook or chef
Experience with menu planning and grocery ordering
Basic knowledge of nutrition and food safety
ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
