About the Role
Specialty Sales, LLC is seeking a dependable Field Services Technician with strong hands‑on mechanical and construction skills, including plumbing, welding, cement work, equipment installation, and mechanical troubleshooting. This position performs daily work on dairy farms, installing, maintaining, and repairing Specialty Sales equipment and systems used in dairy operations.
The role requires frequent travel within the assigned region and regular overnight trips. This is a safety-sensitive, field-based position that requires consistent work in active dairy environments and strict adherence to all safety protocols.
Specialty Sales, LLC provides equipment, service, and support solutions to dairy operations across the region. Our team works closely with producers to install and maintain reliable systems that keep farms operating efficiently. We take pride in delivering practical solutions, dependable service, and hands on expertise that helps dairy producers succeed.
We offer competitve hourly compensation of $25 - $30 based on experience, health, dental and vision insurance, vacation and sick time, and 401(k) retirement options.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey, plan, install, and program custom equipment and systems on dairy farms.
- Inspect equipment and advise on proper handling and operation of Specialty Sales products.
- Perform plumbing, welding, electrical, and cement-related fabrication for new and existing system installations.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace installed equipment and systems using correct diagnostic methods.
- Maintain detailed service records, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance.
- Manage tools, inventory, parts, and assigned vehicles to support field service activities.
- Follow all company safety policies and dairy facility safety requirements, including PPE usage.
- Promptly report accidents, incidents, vehicle issues, safety concerns, and customer complaints.
- Carry out additional duties or special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Must meet all state and federal employment eligibility requirements.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Hands-on mechanical and construction skills, including plumbing, welding, and cement work.
- Basic electrical knowledge and strong mechanical troubleshooting ability preferred.
- Ability to use computer-based technology related to Specialty Sales equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors and on dairy farms in all weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable with regular travel and overnight trips.
- Ability to climb ladders and safely operate field-service equipment.
- Valid driver’s license, residence in assigned region, and insurable driving record.

- In-Region: 100%
- Out-of-Region: ~50%
