BW Fusion is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Agronomy Intern to join our Research & Development team. Reporting directly to the Research Agronomy Lead, this intern will play a hands-on role in supporting large-scale field trials and Contract Research Organization (CRO) activities. Field Trial Support
•
Assist in the planning, establishment, and management of large-scale field trials under the direction of the Research Agronomy Lead
•
Support CRO activities, including trial coordination, protocol adherence, and research site management
•
Conduct field scouting, plant health observations, and agronomic assessments throughout the growing season
•
Assist with trial plot setup, treatment applications, and data collection at research sites
Soil & Tissue Sampling
•
Collect soil and plant tissue samples accurately and in accordance with established research protocols
•
Properly label, store, and submit samples for laboratory analysis in a timely manner
•
Maintain chain-of-custody records and ensure data integrity throughout the sampling process
Data Collection & Reporting
•
Record, organize, and manage field trial data using digital platforms and internal systems
•
Compile observations and sampling results into structured reports for review by the R&D team
•
Assist in data entry and quality-checking to support analysis by the Research Agronomy Lead
Cross-Team Collaboration
•
Work closely with the agronomy and R&D teams to support ongoing research initiatives
•
Communicate field observations and findings clearly and promptly to the Research Agronomy Lead
•
Participate in team meetings, research reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions as needed
Required
•
Currently pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a closely related field
•
Basic understanding of agronomy principles, soil science, plant nutrition, and common crop deficiencies
•
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, thorough data collection
•
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently in a field setting
•
Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams
•
Valid driver's license and reliable, insured personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)
•
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extended exposure to heat and sun
•
Ability to travel to field locations, with possible overnight travel
•
Physical capability to perform field tasks including standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and digging
Preferred
•
Prior coursework or hands-on experience in field research, agronomy trials, or crop scouting
•
Familiarity with soil and tissue sampling techniques or laboratory procedures
•
Experience with agricultural data collection tools or farm management software
•
Direct mentorship from experienced R&D agronomists and research professionals
•
Practical, hands-on experience supporting real field research and CRO-level trial work
•
Exposure to the full research cycle from trial design and data collection through to analysis
•
Insight into how science-based crop bionutrition programs are developed and evaluated at scale
•
A strong foundation for a career in applied agronomy, agricultural research, or crop science
