Position Summary:
The Catalog Associate plays a critical role in preparing auction inventory for sale by accurately identifying,
photographing, describing, and cataloging items. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization,
and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced auction environment. The Catalog Associate supports both live
and online auctions and helps ensure a professional presentation of assets to buyers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Accurately identify, sort, and organize auction inventory
Photograph items using company-provided equipment, ensuring clear and consistent images
Write detailed, accurate catalog descriptions including condition, measurements, and relevant details
Enter item information into auction software and verify data accuracy
Assist with inventory tracking, tagging, and lot numbering
Work closely with auctioneers, operations staff, and administrative team to meet auction deadlines
Maintain a clean and organized cataloging and photography area
Assist with auction setup, preview days, and post-auction duties as needed
Follow company procedures for handling, storing, and securing auction property
Maintain confidentiality regarding client information and auction results
Qualifications & Skills:
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn auction software
Ability to write clear, concise item descriptions
Comfortable using digital cameras and basic photo editing tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and deadline-driven
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouses, homes, and auction facilities
Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, with assistance when needed
Ability to bend, reach, and handle items of various sizes and weights
Work Environment:
Work is performed in auction houses, warehouses, client locations, and office settings
May involve dust, varying temperatures, and frequent movement
Preferred (but not required)
Experience in auctions, estate sales, retail, logistics, or inventory management
Familiarity with collectibles, antiques, tools, or general merchandise
Photography or content-related experience

Paid major holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, as observed by the Company.
401(k) Retirement Plan:
Eligible after one (1) year of employment, subject to plan terms. Open enrollment periods are January and July annually. Employer matching contributions are currently offered up to 4% based on employee contribution levels and may be amended or discontinued in accordance with the plan.
Group Medical Insurance:
Optional participation in group medical benefits, subject to carrier eligibility requirements. Employee premiums are based on individual health status, plan selection, and applicable underwriting guidelines.
Equipment:
A company-issued computer and camera will be provided for business use and must be returned upon separation of employment.
Mileage & Use of Personal Vehicle:
This position may require the use of the employee’s personal vehicle for business purposes outside of normal commuting between the employee’s home and primary office location. Mileage incurred for approved business travel will be reimbursed in accordance with the Company’s mileage reimbursement policy and at the applicable IRS standard mileage rate in effect at the time of travel. The employee is responsible for maintaining a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and a vehicle suitable for business use. Commuting mileage between home and the primary office is not eligible for reimbursement.
