JOB TITLE: Rigger Apprentice

Summary: TNT Crane & Rigging Inc. is looking for qualified individuals to train and grow within the crane and rigging industry. This is an entry level position that requires a high amount of teamwork and clear communication.
Riggers must have some knowledge of crane operations, basic math, and safety and accident prevention. You will learn this through both formal classroom training and on the job training experiences. As a rigger apprentice, you will complete all classroom training, or related instruction (RI) hours over approximately a three-year period while simultaneously logging 6,000 on the job training hours under the supervision of a journeyworker. At the conclusion of the apprenticeship, you will have earned your NCCER Rigger Certification, Signal Person Certification, and Advanced Rigger Certification.

Key Responsibilities
Whether through on-the-job learning, formalized training, work experience, or a combination of all, to become a Rigger an individual must know or be willing to learn:
- How to select proper rigging gear
- How to inspect rigging equipment prior to use
- The proper methods of safe load securing
- Standard hand and voice signal communications to communicate with the rigging and construction team
- How to break down rigging equipment and conduct post-rigging inspections
- Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment
- Ensuring compliance with federal and company safety regulations

- Driver’s License
- CDL preferred
- Ability to pass drug screen/ background check
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy tools and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
