Job Description
Here's what you'll do:
- Maximizing machine efficiency and minimizing machine downtime.
- Supporting production standard work processes (department area boards updates/discussions, standard work, planning/scheduling/follow up on assignments).
- Administrative responsibilities for area (paperwork, team dialog with other Production operators and Production Leads).
- Utilizing the fruit you have to work with to the max without damaging the integrity of our label (good quality).
- Make each piece of fruit count.
- Uses computer programs to reflect inventory and print variety of labels.
- Strong communication with leads and team in tracking of utilization of growers & blocks.
- Ensure that all ranch blocks are properly accounted for.
- Minimizing any waste of product, time, other resources.
- Knowledgeable and organized in tracking performance of each grower/blocks.
- Control buttons, levers, and other machine specific controls
- Calibrate unit on a regular basis to ensure proper performance
- All other duties as assigned
Percentage of Time Commitment:
- 70% - Execute plan and operate equipment through maintaining standard work (i.e. piece rate, centerline setup and adjustment), adhering to performance metrics, operating in a HPWT format, while maintaining a focus on "Mind the Fruit Quality."
- 10% - Basic Equipment Care of all process machinery, utilizing PMs to regularly clean, inspect, detect, and correct imperfections.
- 10% - Continuous Improvement in operator position through observation and recording data, analysis, problem solving and implementation of countermeasures to prevent stoppages or barriers to meeting performance metrics. Conduct Root Cause Analysis and be involved in Equipment Improvement Teams.
- 10% - Execute administrative paperwork (maintaining accurate records of production metrics, downtime, etc.)
Pay Rate: $19.06 an hour.
Qualifications
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- High school diploma.
- Operator level 3 on all pre-sorting equipment and understanding of Oracle WMS System.
- Global Quality knowledge and support.
- Team organization (5S)/Cleanliness/SOPs/LOTO
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand and remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
- Must be able to move about inside and outside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, production machinery and farming machinery.
- Must be able to operates a computer for long periods of time and other productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer/label printer.
- Must be able to frequently ascend/descend stairs/ladder.
- Must be able to position self to maintain equipment in production environment, including under and above the equipment.
- Must be able to communicate with co-workers, supervisor and customers.
- Must be able to frequently move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Must have the ability to wear a company approved face mask for part and or all of your shift. The face mask must cover the nose and mouth when being worn.
