About HELP Foundation and the HELP Harvest Greenhouse :
HELP is our passion! For more than 60 years, HELP Foundation has served people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide residential, employment, transportation and day support services for adults and summer enrichment opportunities for children.
HELP Harvest was launched in 2022 to expand and enhance HELP’s vocational services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that individuals have an opportunity to learn important work skills that help them obtain integrated community jobs.
The HELP Harvest Vocational Training Program includes the HELP Harvest Greenhouse, HELP Harvest Kitchen and Susanna’s Café by HELP Harvest.
Our seed to table concept grows hydroponic produce at our greenhouse which is harvested and prepared at the HELP Harvest Kitchen and sold at Susanna’s Café by HELP Harvest at the Cleveland Foundation.
What HELP offers our Hydroponic Greenhouse Manager:

Position Summary: Responsible for providing operational management over HELP Harvest Greenhouse, which is a 4,000 square foot hydroponic system. Oversees day to day preventative maintenance of greenhouse, including oversight of computer system, hydroponic system, supply ordering, inventory control, as well as creating and facilitating a hands-on curriculum for the vocational habilitation program.
Essential Job Functions
Greenhouse Operations
- Lead the teams that execute daily activities for controlled environment operations including space allocation, sowing, transplanting, pruning, environmental control, fertigation and irrigation;
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders/partners to understand their needs and deliver on strategic goals and activities;
- Optimize workflows and facilitate technology adoption by assessing and communicating resource needs for controlled environment production activities;
- Provide resourcing information and support to operational and capital budget planning; effectively communicate opportunities and improvements to stakeholders and management;
- Measure, track and trend Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to drive decision that remove bottlenecks and increase efficiencies;
- Be responsible for implementation of unique and innovative technology solutions designed to improve research methods and operational success;
- Drive adoption within the team of new tools and methodologies to improve overall plant cultivation;
- Responsible for all required and necessary employee training and comprehension for safety, regulatory and agency policies for HELP Harvest Greenhouse;
- Create a culture of safety, quality, and compliance;
- Create a culture of trust with team to ask questions, bring forth new ideas and take ownership of processes and procedures;
Administration
- Acts as an ambassador for the agency and plays a major role in the advocacy for people with disabilities by maintaining an active involvement in the DODD and OOD communities.
- Oversees the allocation and control of resources and programs.
- Ensures all forms are updated and accurate records are maintained to be in compliance with licensing agency(ies) regulations, funding and reimbursement requirements.
- Communicates and collaborates with supervisors and managers, as appropriate, related to services and operations.
- Oversees and maintains a variety of records, logs, and reports to ensure meeting thresholds for program enrollment.
- Responsible for the processes to ensure the confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and that the information is maintained and protected against loss, destruction, tampering and unauthorized destruction or use.
- Responsible for the assignment and delegation of tasks and projects.
- Provides Quality Assurance oversight, including development of systems to accurately monitor program compliance, crisis management (MUI/UIR) of all services, measures the impact of programs and learning activities on individuals.
Financial
- Assists with development, oversight, and adherence of the annual budget and works within its parameters set forth by the Finance department.
- Oversees and tracks all department receipts and cost documentation within established financial software provided to ensure accuracy. (i.e., gas receipts, maintenance, and repair expenses)
- Responsible for the proper use of the payroll system. Accountable for accuracy of employee time and data input.
- Accountable for the accurate and timely submission of financial data to the finance department. Submits expense reports on a timely basis. Submits accurate records of billable services for billing purposes.
