Appleyard Land and Cattle Ltd. is looking for an experienced and motivated Heavy Equipment Ag Mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, experience in diesel trucks or agricultural machinery, and a passion for problem solving. This is a hands-on, onsite position within a dynamic farming and cattle operation.

The farm is made up of 4 feedlots totaling over 25,000 head of cattle and more than 11,000 acres of row crops. From providing ample space for cattle to roam and graze to ensuring they receive the best nutrition and healthcare, our animals are at the heart of our operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment such as tractors, hay tools, skid steers, combines, and other Ag & Turf machinery.
- Service and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, transmission, A/C, and precision ag/guidance systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections, including fluid and filter changes, testing, and adjustments for field optimization.
- Recondition and repair pre-owned equipment to working standards.
- Travel to field sites for on-site repairs when required.
- Work collaboratively with the operations team to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or Agricultural Equipment Technician certification is an asset.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities in diesel, ag, or construction.
- Experience with agricultural machinery is a plus.
- Basic to above-average computer skills for diagnostics and documentation
- Ability to record detailed repair notes.
- Willingness to keep learning and adapt to new technologies as equipment evolves.
