Job Description:

To support this mission, Syngenta's Formulation Fill and Pack Team is seeking a Maintenance Planner in Omaha, NE. This role will improve maintenance efficiency by anticipating and eliminating delays through planning, scheduling and coordination of manpower, parts and materials, services, and equipment access for all maintenance work. This includes development of a sufficient quantity of maintenance job packages based on priorities dictated by business needs.
Accountabilities:
- Receive and review Work Requests to assure that the proper information is recorded and authorized.
- Provide initial prioritization of work tasks.
- Create detailed work plans including development and verification of bills of material, job safety requirements, field measurements, and communication of plans with production personnel.
- Work with store room and MRO supplier to order and expedite needed items.
- Maintain, review and analyze the backlog of maintenance work orders.
- Plan and schedule a Preventive Maintenance program.
- Identify task for entry into the Preventative Maintenance Management System.
- Manage equipment BOM's (Bills of Material).
- Forecast and level Preventative Maintenance activities.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities for future outages.
- Review completed work orders to ensure proper information has been recorded.
- Assist in assigning work orders.
- Serve as backup to Maintenance Supervisor and periodically direct work activity for all maintenance technicians.
- Develop and maintain Maintenance Planner/Scheduler metrics identified for driving maintenance effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years maintenance experience (comparable production experience will be considered) in an industrial setting or equivalent. Supervisory experience is desirable, with capability to serve as backup to Maintenance Supervisor. Expert SAP PM user experience preferred. Strong understanding of industrial safety standards (OSHA 1910).
- Mechanical and Electrical aptitude, attention to detail, continuous learning, applied learning, teamwork, managing work & time, safety awareness.
- Demonstrated competency in more than one of the following areas: Pumps and Seals, Rotating Equipment, Packaging Equipment, Piping and Welding, Electrical, Instrumentation, and / or Utilities.
- Trained and competent in maintenance planning and scheduling methods.
- Understanding and ability to use the SAP Plant Maintenance Module.
- Strong understanding and adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Ability to identify root cause of equipment failure.
- Microsoft Office software proficiency.
- Microsoft Project desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel Requirements - minimal.
- Two years current position preferred, candidates who have been in their current position a minimum of one year will be considered if they have the approval of their current business unit leader and hiring business unit leader (requirement for internal applicants only).
