Position Summary
The Ranch Hand is responsible for general maintenance and care of facilities, as well as the well-being of guests and animals for a game ranch in Laredo, Texas. This role requires frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions and occasional exposure to chemicals, solvents, fumes, grease, and fuels. The Ranch Hand must perform all duties safely and professionally.
What You'll Do
- Perform general grounds and lawn care
- Carry out general field and shop activities
- Complete building and facility maintenance
- Spray and treat for pests and brush control
- Perform maintenance on watercraft and motor vehicles
- Process game animals during hunting season(s)
- Operate company vehicles to purchase ranch materials and supplies
- Perform painting, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks
- Troubleshoot and perform plumbing repairs
- Safely understand and handle cattle when required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

What We're Looking For
- 3 years of related ranch experience preferred
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and repairs
- Ability to follow instructions from managers and ranch guests
- Valid driver's license; must pass MVR check, drug screen, and physical
- Flexibility to work late hours, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to safely work on rough, uneven terrain
- Full range of body motion including walking, kneeling, climbing, bending, carrying, and more
- Ability to work outdoors up to 100% of the time
- Ability to work in and around water at various levels
- Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented
