Sunshine Feeding Systems is hiring an Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team in Morrill, KS (about 60 miles north of Topeka). This is a dynamic role that combines farm work, livestock care, and agricultural equipment service. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly within the agriculture industry, supporting both farm operations and equipment services.
Sunshine Feeding Systems is a hands-on agriculture business specializing in the sales, service, and installation of farm feeding systems and silo equipment. We work with farms and feedlots across Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, and Oklahoma, supporting cattle operations with reliable feeding and storage solutions.
In addition to our equipment business, we operate a working farm that includes approximately 80 acres of crop production and a 200 head commercial sheep flock. Our farm focuses on forage production including alfalfa and hay, along with corn and soybeans used for livestock feed.

What you will be doing:
Agriculture Equipment & Service Work
- Perform maintenance, repair, installation, and service of farm feeding systems and silo equipment
- Work with equipment such as Harvestore unloaders, Valmetal conveyors, and top silo unloaders
- Complete silo structure maintenance including roof replacement, resealing, and fill pipe installation
- Assist with concrete work including gunite application for silos
- Travel to farms and feedlots across the region for service calls
Farm & Livestock Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and management of a commercial sheep flock
- Assist with lambing, feeding, and general herd health
- Participate in hay production, fencing, and general farm maintenance
- Operate farm equipment for crop and feed production
General Duties
- Welding and fabrication
- Basic electrical and carpentry work
- Follow safety protocols, including working at heights up to 100 feet
- Lift and handle heavy materials as needed
This job is for you if you have:
- Basic mechanical skills required
- Experience in agriculture, farming, or livestock production preferred
- Equipment operation experience is an asset
- Willingness to learn specialized silo equipment (training provided)
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Honest, dependable, and punctual
- Good communication skills and practical problem-solving ability
- Ability to travel with approximately 10 – 15 overnight stays annually.
- No fear of heights. Some silo work will be performed up to 100 ft.
