Job Description:

The duties of this position include:
- Maintain, repair and work on all different types of farm equipment like tractors, harvesters and tillage equipment. This position requires mechanical, electrical and hydraulic skills to diagnose problems then make the necessary repairs.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment.
- Will be responsible for ordering parts and keeping detailed records of parts used and services performed to individual pieces of equipment.
- Be experienced in use of an oxyacetylene torch and with arc/mig welding equipment in order to fabricate repairs on equipment.
- Must keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Assist the Crops Manager with all aspects of crop production.
- Be familiar with the operation of trucks to be used in the harvest of crops.
- Assist in the training, management and supervision of student employees.
- Train and teach students in labs or credit/non-credit classes on the campus farm or in the welding lab, based on candidate expertise and campus needs.
- Work closely with other departments within the college campus such as Agricultural Engineering to help coordinate equipment sharing and tools.
Requirements:
- Experience operating and repairing farm equipment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays when required.
- This position is a physical job that requires strength and ability to work long hours when necessary.
- Should be familiar with both traditional tools and modern diagnostic equipment.
- Should have a positive work ethic and enjoy being a part of a team.
- A desire to work with students.
Additional Information:
- The salary range for this position is $51,261 - $56,000.
- This is a full-time, term position.
