Qualifications:
Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in developing research and statistics for measuring the U.S. food system. OR PhD Degree in Agricultural Economics
- Knowledge and experience with Input-Output Accounts and Ag-FEDS data system. Established reputation in publishing journal and government publications on the Food Dollar and the Resource Requirements of Food Demand as well as other multiplier models based on Input-Output Accounts and Ag-FEDS for measuring the U.S. food system. Technical writing and experience in effectively communicating complex findings from economic studies to non-technical audiences.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
- GAMS, SAS, R, SQL
Duties:
The enrollee will develop methods, identify and compile data, create statistical programming code and document methods and findings in collaboration with staff for a food social accounting matrix and a computable general equilibrium model. The enrollee will also provide technical guidance and expertise on using and developing enhancements to the Agri-Food Economic Data System (Ag-FEDS) and multiplier models based on the Ag-FEDS, including but not limited to the Food Dollar and the Resource Requirements of Food Demand.The enrollee shall not sign federal documents, authorize the use of federal funds, nor initiate or conduct federally funded research projects. The enrollee shall not author articles for publication as a federal employee, nor coordinate scientific research between the Government and private industry. The enrollee shall not present themselves as a Government employee or Government representative at meetings both foreign and domestic or when coordinating federal agencies? areas of research. The enrollee shall not make decisions on federally based research on behalf of Government policy makers, and the enrollee shall not supervise any Government employees.

- Travel Requirements: Perhaps 2 times per year to meet in person with Ag-FEDS team in Kansas City.
- Overnight travel: Perhaps 2 times per year to meet in person with Ag-FEDS team in Kansas City.
- Air travel anticipated: Perhaps 2 times per year to meet in person with Ag-FEDS team in Kansas City.
