Summary of Position
To teach college transfer courses or certificate courses in Farm & Ranch Management, Agriculture Sciences, and/or Horticulture.
Education and Experience
Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Agriculture and/or related courses from a regionally accredited institution of higher education AND three years in an Agriculture or related industry.
Prior teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Ability
- An active participant in the Ag industry.
- Computer literacy required
- Ability to learn Blackboard LMS.
- Ability to communicate with written and oral expertise in the English language.
- Proficiency in the use of agriculture equipment and machinery operation.
- Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences.
- Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Essential Functions
- Teach Agriculture Science courses as assigned.
- Teach online, hybrid, and/or other classes as needed.
- Participate in student advising and retention activities.
- Preparation of Agriculture curricula.
- Sponsor Agriculture Club activities and associated student trips and activities.
- Initiate the recruitment of new students
- Maintain the use of equipment and ordering of supplies.
- Make recommendations for curriculum revisions, equipment purchases, textbooks, etc.
- Provide course syllabi for approved courses for off campus.
- Select textbook(s) and course materials for off campus sites
- Participate in departmental and campus-wide committees and initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
