Glassbox Consultancy is a greenhouse advisory firm helping growers maximize production through sustainable crop strategies, market-aligned planning, and innovative greenhouse design. We are currently managing a new indoor strawberry production facility in Strathroy, Ontario, where we’re implementing advanced growing systems to support high-quality, year-round fruit production.
We’re hiring a Controller to manage full-cycle bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and daily financial transactions while maintaining accurate general ledger and financial reporting. This role also supports budgets, forecasts, month-end close, reconciliations, and year-end audit preparation.

What you would be doing:
- Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain accounting records, financial statements, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and enter financial data into QuickBooks.
- Review financial results with management and support year-end audits and special projects.
- Accounting Operations (Full-Cycle)
- Manage full-cycle A/P: enter invoices, verify accuracy, process payments, and reconcile vendor accounts.
- Handle A/R: generate invoices, apply payments, monitor aging, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Enter daily financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks and verify cash, notes, and supporting documents.
- Work with external vendor to manage payroll.
- Month-End & Reconciliation
- Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Support month-end close through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and accuracy checks.
- Ensure timely monthly reporting and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's /University degree in accounting, finance or related degree
- Ability to work in a start-up environment that is fast-paced
- Extensive experience in accounting
- Proficiency in Quickbooks or similar accounting systems
- Willingness and ability to assist in all areas of accounting and finance
