About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Landscape Supervisor to oversee the daily care and maintenance of a prestigious estate garden. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for preserving the property's beauty, health, and long-term vision. The ideal candidate brings strong horticultural knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to guide a team to the highest standard of estate-level maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Estate Garden Leadership & Daily Operations
• Supervise and coordinate all daily landscape maintenance activities to ensure the estate grounds are kept at exceptional standards.
• Work hands-on alongside the crew, providing direction, motivation, and support.
• Schedule, prioritize, and delegate tasks based on seasonal needs, skill sets, and emerging work requests.
Communication & Reporting
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with a remote manager.
• Provide daily updates, written reports, and progress photos as required.
• Communicate needs, improvements, and any issues quickly and professionally.
Garden & Grounds Maintenance
• Oversee the care of lawns, ornamental plantings, trees, shrubs, and seasonal displays.
• Monitor plant health, soil conditions, irrigation needs, and overall garden performance.
• Collaborate with irrigation and pest control contacts; assist in identifying leaks, system faults, pest issues, or plant diseases.
Operations, Organization & Equipment Care
• Ensure all tools, equipment, vehicles, and storage areas are kept clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Manage materials, supplies, and equipment usage efficiently.
Safety & Quality Standards
• Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with estate, company, and industry standards.
• Ensure all work reflects the professionalism and high expectations of an estate environment.
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in landscaping, horticulture, and supervising a crew—preferably in an estate, resort, or high-end property environment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with landscaping tools and equipment.
• Solid understanding of plant health, soil science, chemical usage, and seasonal horticultural requirements.
Working Conditions
• Primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather.
• Shorter winter hours and longer summer hours.
• Occasional after-hours call-outs for emergencies affecting the property.
