The
Farm Manager with Green Spring Farms is responsible for managing assigned regional farms. This role achieves results through teams and partnerships with company leadership, delivering crop yield and quality targets while managing production and operational costs.
Green Spring Farms is a large-scale farm management company specializing in organic and regenerative agriculture, transforming conventional farmland into high-performing, sustainable systems.
We offer a salary of
$150,000 to $175,000, dependent on experience, plus benefits.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Farm/Asset Management: Manage a select number of properties in a specific region, and if applicable, collaborate with onsite Managers to evaluate performance; identify and implement ways to improve operations, construct operating budgets and monitoring performance efficiencies to manage costs, increase yields, and deliver strong returns for our investors.
- Communication & Engagement: Act as the Green Spring Farms/Farmland LP representative with Tenants, investors, on-site Management Companies, contractors, and consultants. Prepare and present farm and or crop updates on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis as needed for Companywide reporting. Prepare written quarterly reports for Investor Reporting.
- Operational Assistance: Provide recommendations and analysis of capital projects including budgeting, organic conversion, implementation of regenerative practices including soliciting and quotes/bids, coordinating schedules, and set and managing expectations and deadlines with on-site managers and vendors.
- Property & Facilities Maintenance: Manage company staff or vendors and contractors to maintain all field and facilities, such as buildings, pipelines, and irrigation infrastructure pumps, and farm perimeters including ditches, drain ditches, fence lines to ensure they are safe, well-maintained, and meet legal standards.
- Farming Practices: Oversee company staff and collaborate with tenants and management companies to support all aspects of farming operations, from crop development and soil health to land preparation, irrigation, water management, and overall crop production.
- Financial Performance: Assist onsite Managers with the development and implementation of annual crop operating budgets, permanent crop developments, capital expenditure budgets, and revenue projections. Budget for and manage company staff to maximize efficiency while managing costs.
- Monitoring Operations: Visit all properties on a consistent basis to monitor operations and schedule monthly review of expenses with in-house and third-party management companies. Review and approve invoices from on-site managers or operations as needed.
- Crop Planning: Where applicable, in conjunction with senior and farm management, and sales personnel, prepare seasonal and long-term plans for crop rotation ensuring sustainable, regenerative agricultural practices and profitable financial performance.
- I rrigation and Water Rights: Oversee and coordinate the company’s and tenants’ irrigation activities to ensure crops receive water efficiently, precisely, and on schedule. Maintain accurate records of irrigation timing, application volumes, and methods. In partnership with the Resource Manager, ensure water rights are properly utilized, documented, and maintained, with all required reporting completed to support ongoing compliance.
- Information Management: Maintain accurate and timely crops, field work, irrigation, and fertilizer and chemical application records in AgWorld in partnership with the company’s Resource Manager. Manage farming and harvest activities to capture yield per acre and cost per acre by farm and field. Supply accounting with timely and accurate crop yield information.
- Lease & Tenant Management: Serve as the primary contact with the company’s tenants and assist and review lease agreements as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal laws governing farming operations including environmental regulations, food safety, water use, labor laws, and organic certification.
- Acquisitions and Opportunities: Assist with due diligence of potential property acquisitions including assessment of site suitability, water rights and quality, soil and crop health, and marketing options.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing and leading employees
- Ability to manage time, priorities, and farm operations efficiently
- Basic understanding of crop production and farm practices
- Use of Microsoft operating systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science, Ag Business, or a related field, or equivalent of
- Bilingual - English/Spanish
- Pest Control Advisor, Certified Crop Advisor, or Qualified Applicators License
