Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Barn Manager/Riding Instructor to lead our equestrian programs and oversee daily barn operations. This dynamic role combines hands-on management of barn activities with inspiring riding instruction for students of all ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, engaging, and educational environment that promotes growth, confidence, and a love for horses and riding. Duties
- Manage daily barn operations, including horse care, feeding, grooming, and maintenance of facilities
- Develop and deliver engaging riding lessons tailored to individual skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders
- Supervise and mentor riding instructors and barn staff to ensure high standards of safety and quality
- Scheduling and coordinating farrier appointments
- Organizing chiropractor and veterinary visits
- Managing feed and supply orders
- Acting as lesson liaison ensuring lessons are on time and running smoothly
- Organize riding schedules, lesson plans, and special events such as clinics or competitions
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper behavior management and emergency procedures
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and enthusiasm among staff and students
Requirements
- Proven experience in barn management or equestrian instruction with a strong understanding of horse care and safety standards
- Prior experience as a riding instructor or coach, with the ability to teach riders of all ages and skill levels
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote safe riding practices
- Comfortable communicating with clients, parents, and staff
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
