AREA DIRECTOR OF SALES

POSITION OVERVIEW
CattleUSA Insurance is seeking an Area Director of Sales to continue to build and scale our national insurance platform across Livestock Risk Protection (LRP), Pasture Rangeland Forage (PRF), and Multi Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI). This is a player-coach leadership role requiring meaningful personal production while recruiting, developing, and managing a high-performing team of insurance advisors.
The Area Director of Sales will set the standard for performance, accountability, and professionalism across the insurance division and report directly to ownership with authority over sales team management, performance standards, and personnel decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Collaborate with ownership to define annual sales and business plans, expansion strategies, and long-term growth objectives aligned with CattleUSA Insurance’s vision
- Identify and manage risks within the division, including development of mitigation strategies and ensuring operations comply with RMA and AIP regulatory frameworks
- Recommend capital deployment strategies and oversee approved investments in coordination with leadership
Growth & Business Development
- Oversee advisors within CattleUSA Insurance with direct accountability for production objectives
- Drive top-line growth, innovation, and market development initiatives
- Build and maintain Center of Influence relationships and strategic market partnerships
Personal Production (Player-Coach Requirement)
- Build and maintain a personal book of business across LRP, PRF, and MPCI product lines
- Establish credibility in the field through direct advisor relationships and active client engagement
- Demonstrate the production standards expected of the entire sales team
Team Building & Talent Development
- Recruit high-quality, performance driven sales professionals with strong ties to the cattle and agricultural industries
- Build a team of at least 8-10 active advisors by end of 2026
- Develop advisors through structured onboarding and training programs
- Implement advisor training serving as player-coach
- Establish clear production benchmarks and accountability standards
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Approximately 30% travel including multi-state engagement in key cattle and agricultural regions. In-person advisor meetings, team training sessions, and regional presence required to build relationships and drive performance.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Industry Expertise
- Deep knowledge of livestock and agricultural insurance products (LRP, PRF, MPCI)
- Strong understanding of Risk Management Agency (RMA) regulations and Approved Insurance Provider (AIP) compliance requirements
- Established relationships within the cattle and agricultural industries
- Proven ability to build credibility with advisors and industry stakeholders
Strategic & Financial Acumen
- Strong business planning and execution capabilities
- Financial management experience including P&L oversight and margin management
- Ability to balance growth objectives with profitability targets
- Experience with capital deployment recommendations and budget oversight
Sales & Production Leadership
- Demonstrated success in personal insurance production and sales leadership
- Experience building sales teams: recruiting, training, and developing insurance advisors with varied experience levels
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable in a high-performance environment
- Ability to effectively manage performance standards through use of accountability measures
