Job Summary:
As a Commercial Landscape Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems for commercial properties. This is a hands-on position that requires knowledge of landscaping and irrigation techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor targeted areas for potential and existing problems
- Work independently or with others under little or no supervision
- Maintain current and accurate records of products used, problems encountered, or other information essential to the job.
- Communicate well with others and follow both written and verbal instructions
- Must have a willingness to work long hours and a varying schedule
- Must be willing to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions
- Installing systems and ensuring that they function efficiently
- Repairing and maintaining valves, tracing electrical components, installing and initializing clocks and timers, locating existing zones and valves and performing pump repairs
- Install and repair irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip lines, valves, and controllers
- Perform regular maintenance on irrigation systems to ensure proper functioning
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with irrigation systems and make necessary repairs
- Collaborate with landscapers and gardeners to ensure proper watering schedules
- Dig trenches and lay pipes for irrigation system installation
- Adjust sprinkler heads to ensure optimal coverage
- Monitor water usage and make adjustments to conserve water when necessary
Skills Required:
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for irrigation system installation and repair
- Effective oral and communication skills.
- Knowledge of two-wire systems
- Knowledge of landscaping and garden maintenance techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with irrigation systems
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship
- High school degree or GED required.
