Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Gardener to join our team and contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of the outdoor spaces at The Addison Grove and Prospect House. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture and landscaping, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of beauty and functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain flower beds, ensuring they are free of weeds and debris.
- Prune and cut back plants to encourage healthy growth and maintain desired shape and size.
- Assess the condition of existing plants and recommend replacements as needed to ensure optimal appearance.
- Weed garden beds regularly to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
- Plant new flowers, shrubs, and other greenery as needed, following established design plans and considering seasonal variations.
- Monitor and adjust watering schedules to ensure plants receive adequate moisture, especially during periods of drought or extreme heat.
- Care for indoor plants, including watering, pruning, and repotting as needed.
- Collaborate with the venue management team to coordinate garden maintenance activities with event schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture preferred.
- Knowledge of plant care techniques, including pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with excellent time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work one to two days a week, with occasional additional hours required during peak seasons or special events.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude, with a willingness to collaborate effectively with other team members.
